Definition
Coded identification of national and sub-national divisions according to recognised administrative boundary repositories. Multiple levels may be reported.
Attributes
- @code
The code for the administrative area being reported from the vocabulary specified.
This value must be of type xsd:string.
- @vocabulary
The code for a recognised administrative boundary. repository
This value must be of type xsd:string.
This value must be on the GeographicVocabulary codelist.
- @level
An integer indicating the hierarchical level being reported. Level 0 is the national boundary, level 1 is the first-level administrative sub-division, etc.
This value must be of type xsd:nonNegativeInteger.
- @country
Deprecated since 1.04
The ISO 3166-1 alpha2 code for the country (e.g. “GB” for the United Kingdom).

This value must be of type xsd:string.
This value should be on the Country codelist.
- @adm1
Deprecated since 1.04
The UNSALB level-one administrative code for a subdivision of a country.

The UNSALB level-two administrative code for a subdivision of a country.

Prior to 1.04 National and sub-national administrative divisions could be declared as such (but as of 1.04 the @country, @adm1 and @adm2 attributes are deprecated):

In 1.04 the @country, @adm1 and @adm2 attributes were deprecated. The new attributes replace the function of the previous ones.
