Finding other organisations' identifiers

IATI Organisation Identifiers

First check whether an organisation is publishing to IATI. If they are, then you should use their IATI Organisation Identifier and type of organisation. These can be found using:

• IATI Registry: search for the organisation by name, or download full list.
• Org-ID finder (external tool): search for the organisation by name.

If you are unable to find an organisation’s identifier in one of the two options above, Org-ID guide offers help in identifying what an organisation’s IATI Organisation identifier should be. Additional guidance on creating an IATI organisation identifier is available here.

IATI Activity Identifiers

To find an IATI activity identifier for a donor publishing to IATI:

• Ask the organisation funding your activity which activity identifier you should link to

To find an activity identifier which your organisation is referenced by:

• Go to d-portal.org
• Click on ‘More Filters’
• Search for the organisation in the ‘Participating Org’ drop down list
• Click ‘Explore Results’
• Either choose ‘Total Projects’ to see all the activities that the organisation is mentioned in, or ‘IATI Publishers’ to see which IATI publishers mention the organisation.

You can also use an external tool for searching existing activity identifiers and then searching the activity on d-portal.
