Switzerland‌ joins IATI as a new member

Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC)

The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) has become a member of the International Aid Transparency Initiative (IATI).

They join 96 IATI members including 15 donor governments committed to improving the transparency of international resources to help achieve sustainable development. Through its membership, the SDC will support the initiative and already began its engagement by participating in IATI's first virtual Members’ Assembly 2020 (1-2 December)

"Switzerland has ‌been‌ ‌publishing‌ ‌data‌ on its international cooperation spending to IATI since 2013, becoming a member is a way to further substantiate our commitment to transparency."

Thomas Gass, Assistant Director General at ‌SDC‌ says: “Our conviction is that high quality, relevant, factual, timely and informative data and evidence-based decision-making will enable faster and better implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.

"Switzerland has ‌been‌ ‌publishing‌ ‌data‌ on its international cooperation spending to IATI since 2013, becoming a member is a way to further substantiate our commitment to transparency. We are strongly committed to harness the potential of digitalisation for more effective development cooperation. The promotion of the use of data by our stakeholders, especially partner countries, is a clear priority for us.”
