Green Climate Fund starts publishing IATI data
The Green Climate Fund (GCF) has started publishing its climate finance data to IATI, marking an important milestone following its decision to join the initiative as a member earlier this year.
GCF has now published information on more than 350 climate projects and activities across more than 140 countries and territories. Their published data includes financial commitments, disbursements, sectors, and delivery partners, making it easier to understand how climate finance is being invested around the world.
As the world's largest dedicated multilateral climate fund, GCF supports developing countries to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and strengthen resilience to climate change. Publishing to the IATI Standard makes GCF's data available alongside information from over 2000 other development and humanitarian organisations.
Strengthening climate transparency
By the end of 2025, organisations publishing to IATI had reported:
- 169 organisations reporting over 28,000 activities targeting climate change mitigation
- 198 organisations reporting more than 38,000 activities targeting climate change adaptation
By the end of 2025, organisations publishing to IATI had reported more than 28,700 climate mitigation activities from 169 organisations and 38,560 climate adaptation activities from 198 organisations. Adding GCF's data to this growing ecosystem further strengthens the availability of open climate finance information, supporting greater transparency, coordination and evidence-based decision-making.
GCF's activities and funding information can now be explored through IATI's data access tools, including d-portal.
IATI looks forward to continuing to work with GCF as it expands its IATI publication and contributes to greater transparency and interoperability across the global climate finance community.
