During the High-Level Week of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 81), CAF – Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean and the International Aid Transparency Initiative (IATI) will co-host a high-level side event exploring how transparency and open development data can strengthen trust, accountability and effective global governance.

About the event
The international development cooperation landscape is changing rapidly. Growing financing pressures, increasingly diverse development actors and a more complex global environment make access to transparent, timely and usable information more important than ever.
The CAF–IATI Transparency Forum will bring together representatives from governments, multilateral institutions, civil society and the wider development community to discuss how open development data can support stronger cooperation, accountability and evidence-based decision-making.
The discussion comes at an important moment following the adoption of the Sevilla Commitment at the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD4), which recognises the importance of transparency and the role of IATI in advancing transparency across the international development cooperation architecture.
A high-level panel will bring together national and multilateral perspectives and practical experiences of using transparency and open data to strengthen development cooperation. The panel will be followed by an interactive dialogue with participants and closing reflections.
