Somalia has joined IATI as its latest partner country member, providing a boost to aid transparency and open data in development.
Recently, government staff used IATI data to help inform their new National Development Plan (2017-2019). Now their Ministry of Planning is developing a home-grown Aid Information Management System to be able to make more systematic use of IATI data for coordination and decision-making.
Somalia’s Director General of Monitoring and Evaluation, Jimaale Ahmed, looks forward to joining fellow IATI members at the Members’ Assembly in Rome next week.
IATI has over 80 members from across the aid, development and humanitarian sectors. Find out more on these organisations and how to join IATI in our Members’ Assembly section.
