The IATI Steering Committee, meeting today at UN City in Copenhagen, have confirmed that the Netherlands, represented by Robin Uyterlinde, and Bangladesh, represented by Abul Kalam Azad, are to be the new Chair and Vice Chair respectively, leading the work of the IATI Steering Committee for the next two years.
Mr Azad said, “The Vice-chairing role in the Steering Committee of IATI will enable Bangladesh to play a more active role in promoting the interests of the aid receiving countries at the international level”.
Mr Uyterlinde said he hope the Netherlands would be able to support “members to not only maintain, but also to further improve upon the IATI standard in view of the post-Busan era with the aim to involve and commit an increasing number of partners to transparency in development”.
