The 2014 IATI Technical Advisory Group (TAG) meeting finished up today with great fanfare. New Chair of the TAG, John Adams of the UK’s DFID said, “the TAG was amazing – the range of people, the energy, the enthusiasm were fantastic. We have a vibrant community of geeks, data wranglers, policy people and communicators; if we harness their creativity we can keep building on the extraordinary achievements of IATI.”
Annelise Parr of UNDP and Head of the IATI Secretariat said, “the TAG meeting was another big step forward for IATI since the new Secretariat took over. Keeping alive the can-do spirit of this wonderful group of people beyond these two days in Montreal will ensure IATI can take its place as a grown up data standard.”
Yohanna Loucheur from the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development said, “it was great to welcome the TAG community to Montreal, braving the Canadian winter with gusto and not letting the cold stop them enjoying the Poutine Club! DFATD was delighted that its financial support to IATI enabled the TAG to happen and that the event was such a success.”
