IATI and the Global Partnership for Effective Development Cooperation (GPEDC) hosted a side-event at this year's UN High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF).
The event raised awareness about the importance of transparency and effectiveness as key enablers for sustainable development. It focused on why transparency and effectiveness should be a priority at the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD4) in July 2025.
The 2024 Financing for Sustainable Development Report (FSDR) shows the investment gap to meet the SDGs is now 4.2 trillion USD, up from 2.5 trillion USD in 2015. Financing this gap will be a key focus of FfD4. It is all the more urgent to demonstrate to the world now that resources are being delivered transparently and effectively.
