This weekend, hackers from the United Kingdom and the Netherlands will meet in The Hague to work on digital solutions to problems facing the Great Lakes region of Africa.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Netherlands, together with the embassies of four countries of the Great Lakes region, have come up with three challenges for the hackers in the areas of donor aid transparency, gender violence, and natural resource tracking.
Reina Buijs, deputy head Directorate-General for International Cooperation, will kick off the event, which takes place on 18-19 October.
