A community of experts that helps IATI to continuously improve its approach to publishing and using open data.
The technical advisory group (TAG) is an expert community that informs our approach to data publication and use, including updating the IATI Standard.
The TAG includes publishers, developers, data users and transparency advocates. Anyone with expertise to contribute to IATI can get involved and there is no formal membership.
Most of the group’s work and discussion happens on our online forum IATI Discuss, however the TAG meets in person once a year. Individuals or groups of organisations can also host their own smaller-scale meetups on specific IATI topics, called miniTAGs.
The TAG is chaired by John Adams, who is the technical lead for open data initiatives at the UK’s Department for International Development (DFID). The Chair is elected by the attendees of the annual TAG meeting and represents the group’s view on IATI’s governing board.
You can keep up-to-date on all the latest TAG news by subscribing to our fortnightly e-newsletter and joining the conversation on our community forum IATI Discuss.
