The ISO 639 language code for the target document, e.g. “en”.

Example Usage

Example usage of language in context of document-link element.
NB: This specifies the language of the document being linked to.
  <document-link format="application/vnd.oasis.opendocument.text" url="">
   <title>Project report 2013</title>
   <category code="A01" />
   <language code="en" />
It may be appropriate to repeat the document-link element if the document is available in other languages:.

Note: This specifies the language of the document being linked to. In this example, the title element still uses xml:lang to declare the title text in two languages.
  <document-link format="application/vnd.oasis.opendocument.text" url="">
   <title>Project report 2013</title>
   <title xml:lang="fr">Rapport de projet 2013</title>
   <category code="B01" />
   <language code="fr" />
